DMWS (Defence Medical Welfare Service) is a registered charity that has been providing welfare support to the Armed Forces for over 70 years.
Formed in 1943 from the Joint War Organisation of the British Red Cross and the Order of St John our name was changed to DMWS in 2001 when we became an independent charity.
From frontline to recovery we provide Service personnel (both regular and reservists), their families, veterans and some entitled civilians with a confidential 24/7 welfare service.
We are also the only military charity and civilian welfare organisation to deploy to areas of conflict witht the Armed Forces to support the troops on the frontline.
